Welcome to Umonhon Nation Public School

An Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound (ELOB) school

Expeditionary Learning is based on the Outward Bound program and founded by Kurt Hahn. In the program students go on learning expeditions designed to engage students in multidisciplinary learning. These expeditions are designed by a team of teachers from different fields. Academic rigor is evident in all phases of the expedition. The end product of a successful journey is a student portfolio that can be used to demonstrate learning for employers or colleges. There are currently over 60 schools in the United States involved in this program.

" I bring you news which it saddens my heart to think of. There is a coming flood which will soon reach us, and I advise you to prepare for it. Soon the animals which Wakonda has given us for sustenance will disappear beneath this flood to return no more and it will be hard for you. Speak kindly to one another, do what you can to help each other, even in the trouble with the coming tide."
